Lymore is a beautifully presented detached bungalow, recently redecorated throughout with new carpets, offering spacious, light-filled accommodation, with a generous south-west facing plot and lovely views to the rear.
A gravel driveway provides off-road parking for several vehicles alongside a garage with a new roof and electric door, with neat, well-stocked borders framing the approach to the property.
Inside, a welcoming entrance hall with attractive parquet flooring leads through to a spacious dual-aspect lounge with an open fire, flowing through into the separate dining area — ideal for entertaining. A large loft offers excellent further storage.
The property benefits from a newly fitted kitchen in shaker-style units with dark worktops and space for a washing machine and dishwasher, plus a handy breakfast bar.
Two well-proportioned bedrooms complete the accommodation — the main bedroom and a second bedroom — along with a newly fitted shower room.
Outside, the south-west facing rear garden is a particular highlight — a gravelled patio area bordered by raised stone-walled beds provides the perfect spot for al fresco dining, with steps leading up to a large, mainly laid-to-lawn garden bordered by mature planting and lovely views towards the fields beyond.
Wickhamford is a popular and picturesque village just outside Evesham, within easy reach of local amenities, excellent schools and the Cotswolds beyond.
Wickhamford, Worcestershire
Wickhamford is a small and picturesque village in the Wychavon district of Worcestershire, lying on the A44 roughly midway between the historic market town of Evesham and the Cotswold village of Broadway — a position that gives residents the best of both worlds, with everyday amenities close by and the rolling countryside of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the doorstep. The village has a long and well-documented history, appearing in the Domesday Book of 1086 as “Wiquene”, when the land belonged to nearby Evesham Abbey.
At the heart of the village sits Wickhamford Manor, a handsome 16th century timber-framed manor house built on an E-plan, which — together with its 13th century dovecote and the adjoining Church of St John the Baptist — forms a wonderfully picturesque group gathered around a lake that was originally a medieval fish pond. The manor was home to the Sandys family for over two centuries, and the church contains a floor monument to Penelope Washington, a distant relative of George Washington, lending the village a surprising and much-talked-about thread of American history. The writer James Lees-Milne was also born at the manor in 1908, adding a further literary connection to the village’s story.
Today, Wickhamford remains a peaceful and sought-after rural spot, offering genuine village tranquillity while sitting within easy reach of Evesham’s fuller range of shops, schools and rail connections, as well as the picture-postcard appeal of Broadway and the wider Cotswolds. Altogether, Wickhamford offers a rare combination of historic character, a beautiful setting, and real convenience — making it a consistently popular choice for buyers.
