Chatterton Estate Agents are a family run business established in August 2015 with an aim ‘to bridge the gap’ between High Street Agents and Online Agents. We wanted to be able to match the fees of the online agents and, at the same time, give our customers the same (or better) experience of using a High Street Agent. We believe that we have exceeded expectations and that, through our passion for selling homes, we provide a first-class service. We always have our customers best interests at heart and we truly believe that if you enjoy the experience of dealing with us then we will have customers for life. We will always go that extra mile to ensure that we have happy vendors and happy buyers. Have a little read of our reviews and showcases and see for yourself how we go the extra mile.
We will exceed your expectations because we care.
Try us.
Happy Vendors and Happy Buyers
ALL ABOUT JOE…
My first experience of being an Estate Agent was in 1999 when I became a trainee negotiator for Dixons Countrywide in Leamington Spa. The training for agents in those days was fantastic, a far cry from the ‘learn on the job’ that seems to be the norm nowadays and the reason why so many leave the profession completely. Within three years I was promoted to Branch Manager of RA Bennett Countrywide, Bourton-on-the-Water office winning a most improved office award and from there I moved on to manage the Town and Country Evesham office which I did for a period of seven highly successful years.
I have loved being an estate agent for nearly two decades and get incredible satisfaction from it. The day to day variety is immense; the problem solving and dealing with the general public is both challenging and rewarding and I have had so many clients become friends.
A personal passion that I bring to the business is photography. I feel that comes across in all that we do, and I believe that the pictures are one of the most important parts of the marketing. No wide-angle lenses or fake filters, just great honest photos that show off the best of each property we take-on, and all just part of our service with no extra charge! Also, my ability to chat to anybody is a skill I have honed over the years. Selling anything is about people and we don’t forget that, which is why we all strive to give the best service to all we meet.
In 2015 we started Chatterton Estate Agents. I remember the feeling seeing our first board go up and I still get that feeling now, especially when it says SSTC! It is our name, our passion, our life and I don’t think that feeling will abate. Away from work, when I am not being a father to three or a dog walker, I like to be in the fresh air, either beside our stunning local river attempting to catch fish or on one of our many local golf courses looking for a little white ball.
ALL ABOUT CLAIRE…
I had never planned to be an estate agent. I gained a 2:1 in my degree BSc Psychology with Criminal Justice and then went on to complete a PGCE and began teaching 15 years ago. After teaching full time for three years I then went part time after having our first daughter, Maisie-Anne. I continued teaching after our son, Max, was born three years later and continued to juggle a busy job with an even busier family life. After Grace was born in 2013, I decided not to return to teaching and that was when the idea of setting up our own Estate Agency began. We spent a good year chatting about it, usually over a glass of wine, and it was only when we made an appointment to see our accountant that I realised that we could seriously make our dream a reality.
Fast forward to August 2015 (after much hard work and sleepless nights – even more than having a new born!) and we opened! I had so many fears and doubts and none of it really sank in until we had our first sale- on only the second day of marketing! We were over the moon – especially as it was a property that had been on the market with two other agents for a long time.
We really have gone from strength to strength and I, personally, believe that we provide a five-star service. I love chatting to vendors and buyers, helping to alleviate their worries or concerns and there is nothing better than calling a vendor to say their sale has completed and then handing over the keys to happy buyers. I spend most of my time in the office (which happens to be in our home) taking phone calls and creating the brochures for lovely homes. I do this between taking and picking up our three children from school, which means I can be there for them as much as possible. Chatterton Estate Agents isn’t just a job for me. It’s our name, our way of life and our legacy for our children.
ALL ABOUT ANNA…
I was working as a teaching assistant in a private school in 1999 when I was made redundant. I was in the process of buying my first property at the time and not having a job would have affected my mortgage application. I ended up chatting with RA Bennetts who I was buying through and they suggested attending their open day with a view to becoming an estate agent.
That was quite the career change but one I was keen to explore. Thankfully they offered me a job in their busiest office, Evesham. I was thrown in at the deep end and it was quite a steep learning curve. Lots of targets and training courses, a real baptism of fire. I worked there for several years and met and worked with some brilliant people, including Joe and Claire Chatterton and my husband!
After a career change in my 30’s, setting up and running my own coffee shop business, which had been a long term dream, I became a stay at home mum to Harry who is now nearly five. I really missed working however so when Joe and Claire offered me a role back in estate agency I jumped at the chance and have loved working for them since. Meeting and chatting to vendors, helping people find their perfect homes and handing over keys to very excited people on completion day makes the tricky bits even more worthwhile.
The estate agency world has moved on hugely in the time I’ve been away. Back then we had applicant cards, paper maps and offices with visiting customers. It was a different world. Technology has changed all that for the better, mostly. Now with people searching online at the touch of a button clients can investigate what’s behind the property, exactly where it is located, what school catchment it’s in, which way the garden faces etc. This means we can focus on looking after our vendors better, help sales progress more smoothly and (try to) speed up the conveyancing process.
In my spare time my husband and I are renovating our very original 1960’s house. I also love cooking and gardening with Harry, growing our own vegetables and cut flowers and walking our sprocker George in the beautiful local countryside.
